A native of Jacksonville, Florida, William Boston has enjoyed a thirty-five year career as a media music composer, arranger, film music orchestrator and, in recent years, online music tutor and lecturer (film music studies). Additionally, William has written a number of works for concert performance including pieces for various small chamber ensembles, chamber orchestra, wind ensemble, concert band and solo percussion (timpani and marimba). William was a 1994 recipient (one of two) of the BMI Pete Carpenter Memorial Fellowship, which included a seven-week internship with composer Mike Post. In September 2014 William traveled to London to record “A Little Light Music,” a collection of original light classical (light music) miniatures intended for commercial release, recorded with thirty-one members of the English Chamber Orchestra.
